On February 5, 2024, the Sevier County School System hosted its annual Spelling Bee at Northview Academy, featuring participants from seventeen elementary schools across the district. Thirty-one students from third to eighth grade showcased their spelling prowess.
Aubree Stefaniak, an 8th grader representing Gatlinburg-Pittman Junior High, clinched the championship title after eight intense rounds, correctly spelling the word "adversaria." Following a further seven rounds of competition, second and third place were awarded. Zoey Zweizig, a fifth grader from Pittman Center Elementary School, secured second place, while Kriti Patel, a sixth grader from Pi Beta Phi Elementary School, earned third place honors.
Congratulations to all the talented students who took part in the 2024 district spelling bee.
