We at Sevier County Schools appreciate your interest in a position with our district. These resources are designed to assist you with your job search and to ensure that you understand the requirements that you must meet in order to be employed with our district. Prior to applying, teacher candidates who do not already have a valid certificate should review the requirements needed to obtain a Tennessee Teachers License.

Under Tennessee law, any person seeking employment with Sevier County Schools will be subject a background check through the Tennessee Applicant Processing Services Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.  Additionally, any applicant will have his/her name submitted to the Department of Children's Services, Department of Human Services, and the sex offender registry to determine if the applicant is eligible for hire.

Application Process for Certified Professionals

 Step 1:  Submit a complete application packet by mail which includes the following:
  • Certified Application; Make sure to sign, date and fill out ALL application information completely.
  • Resume
  • Copy of Current Teaching License(s) Note: If the license is pending, please include an explanation
  • Copy of College Transcripts; these do NOT have to be official copies. Please do not have official copies mailed to the school system separate from your application packet.

Step 2:  Request an Official Screening

Once your full packet has been delivered to Human Resources, you may request an initial screening of your packet by sending an email to hollyburcham@sevier.org or by calling 865-453-4671. Please include your area of certification and position that you are applying for in the request. This initial screening process reviews the application packet to ensure all required paperwork has been submitted and accepted before you contact administrators listed on a posted position.

Step 3:  Screening Approval

After you receive the initial screening approval via email from Human Resources you are approved to contact administrators directly to request an interview when jobs are posted. Note: Applications are kept on file one calendar year from the date the are received. If you wish to reapply or update your application, a new application must be filled out and submitted.
