Designated “Best for All” School System by Tennessee Department of Education
The Sevier County School System is pleased to announce that the Tennessee Department of Education has designated our district a “Best for All” school system this year. This distinction, a recognition of our efforts as teachers, parents, and students, is a testament to the hard work and perseverance that all of our stakeholders have shown during the last year. Despite recent challenges, our staff members, our students, and the people of our communities have worked together as one to ensure the progress of our young ones. We are proud to receive this designation, and we invite you to join us in celebrating this achievement.

Elementary and Secondary School Relief Fund (ESSER) Survey
In response to COVID-19 and its potential impact on student learning, the American Rescue Plan Act (ARP) was signed into law by the federal government on March 11, 2021 and provided approximately $122 billion for the Elementary and Secondary School Relief Fund (ESSER). The Sevier County School System has received over $42,000,000 of ESSER funds (including CARES ESSER 1.0, CRSSA ESSER 2.0, and ARP ESSER 3.0) to address the impact on student's learning and COVID-19 recovery. Federal guidance states that all funds must be spent in the prevention, preparation, and response to COVID-19. These funds are designated for one-time or short term expenditures to address the ongoing impact of the pandemic. There is a federal requirement that at least 20% of our ESSER 3.0 funds ($5.5 million) must target learning loss due to extended school closures and interruptions. Please take a few minutes to share your feedback about our district’s progress thus far in planning for and implementing the use of these funds. We are interested in your input into how the district should best use the resources to address students' instructional needs and ongoing COVID-19 recovery. Your response to this survey will be used to continue our plan and implementation for the spending of the ESSER federal stimulus grant. Please respond by January 10, 2022.The Sevier County School System is interested in your thoughts and insights into how our schools may best continue to provide support for student success following the impact of the pandemic. We appreciate and value your feedback.
