Pi Beta Phi Elementary School

Honoring the Past, Treasuring the Present, and Shaping the Future

  • Sixth Grade at Pi Beta Phi Elementary

We request a donation of  the following supplies for your child’s classroom use during the year

    •  A minimum of  5 packs of  No. 2 pencils sharpened
    • Dry erase markers
    • 5 “marble” 9 ¾ x 7 1/2 composition books. Cover design is your choice. (no spiral)
    • 4 pocket folders
    • 1 pack of copier paper
    • 1 pack construction paper
    •  2 boxes of facial tissues
    •  2 containers of antibacterial wipes
    • 1 bottle of hand sanitizer
    •  2 sets of  very inexpensive earbuds or headphones
    • 4 glue sticks
    • 1 pack markers
    • 1 pack colored pencils
    • 1 roll of paper towels

If for any reason you would like to contact us, please send us an email. You can access our emails on the school’s website. Check your child’s Google Classroom pages to see what is happening in each class.  Progress reports listing your child’s grades will be sent at each mid-term. Report cards will be sent at the end of the six-weeks period.

Averages will come from daily work, homework, and tests. Special grading will occur when students have special projects, such as science fair and National History day, research papers, group work, etc. Students must turn in work on time and meet the required expectations to receive full credit.

Students are required to bring a note from home when they are absent. In grade 6, students are allowed to use five parental notes per semester. Each note counts for one day. Once students have used all of their allocated parental notes each absence will require a doctor’s excuse. Students have one day for each day missed to complete make-up work and receive credit. Students who have perfect or good attendance each six-weeks will be able to participate in a grade level reward.

     Make-up Work

All assignments are found on our Google Classrooms pages. Students are to check the stream of assignments for make-up work, seek clarification from the teacher if necessary, collect any papers needed, and complete work during the appropriate time frame. It is the responsibility of the student to obtain missed assignments and to turn them in promptly.

  • Welcome to the Third Grade

Pi Beta Phi Elementary School - 2022-2023

We are looking forward to working with you to ensure that your student has a successful year as he or she takes on many new challenges.

We would like to briefly discuss our daily homework policy. Typically, students have math practice sheets, 5-10 minutes of multiplication practice and 20 minutes of  independent reading. Science homework will be given throughout the week as needed. Any and all work started at school but not completed during the allotted class time will become homework and will be found in your child’s daily folder in the pocket “Return to School.”  Students will write homework assignments in their Pi Beta Phi planners daily. This will ensure we know you are informed about assignments, so please check and sign your child’s planner each night.  The third grade is a year of outstanding growth in the areas of responsibility and time management.

    Behavior Management

All third grade teachers will be using the Pi Beta Phi Manners:

    1. Be respectful.
    2. Be responsible.
    3. Be safe.
    4. Be kind.
    • Positive behavior will be regularly reinforced with recognition and rewards.
    • Students will receive consequences for negative behavior as needed.
    • Repeated or ongoing negative behavior will warrant a Discipline Report.
    • Serious or repeated offenses will also include a referral to the Principal’s Office.

This school year will be full of new experiences for your student, and the third grade teachers are looking forward to it! We are confident that your student will reach all the goals that are essential for success in third grade. We expect this year to be a year of academic and social growth. Your support and input are needed for your student’s development. We look forward to seeing your child bloom in third grade!

We request that each parent donate the following supplies for your child’s classroom use during the school year.

    • 1 pack wide-ruled paper
    • 4 boxes of pre-sharpened #2 pencils (Mechanical pencils and pens are not permitted)
