Individuals interested in applying for a substitute teaching position with the Sevier County School System must obtain an application from an administrator at one of our schools. 

Applicants should:

• Fill out all information requested on the application
• Sign and date the application prior to submitting it to the Sevier County School System

The application is to be completed by the applicant in full and returned to the administrator at the same school location in which the application was obtained.

The administrator will review the application and complete reference checks. If the applicant is offered employment, they will receive further information from the administrator on how to complete the employment process.

Once an applicant has been offered employment as a substitute teacher, they will be given instructions for completing a federal background check.

The following items are required at the time of oriention:

• Completed Substitute Teacher Application
• Drivers License
• Social Security Card
• Voided Check for Direct Deposit or a letter on bank letterhead stating routing and account number
• Letter of recommendation from a local Sevier County resident
• Copy of High School Diploma or College Transcript (GED diploma requires 9 hours of college credit.)
• Receipt from Identogo for fingerprinting confirmation
