The Sevier County School System welcomes the opportunity to continue preschool services for the 2022-2023 school year. The purpose of these programs is to provide a pre-kindergarten experience for Sevier County’s four-year-old children, with priority given to those determined to be at-risk. To be eligible for consideration for pre-kindergarten, a child must four (4) years of age on or before August 15, 2022, and be a resident of Sevier County prior to enrollment. Registration will be held at each of the current pre-kindergarten sites as listed below (Sevierville Primary site located at the Trula Lawson Center).
Parents must attend registration at one of the schools listed below on May 31, 2022 to schedule an appointment for screening. Note: Only 31 names will be taken before a waiting list will be created. This waiting list will be formed according to the actual time/day that registration materials were completed. No bus transportation will be provided to the program, so each parent should plan on their child attending the site closest to their home. Screening dates will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for each of the school sites. Parents will be assigned a specific screening time during the May registration. Please do not register at multiple sites. Because spaces are limited for these programs, multiple registrations will result in the child being placed on a waiting list.

Upon parent/guardian registration at the school, parents will receive a packet containing information needed to process their child as a potential enrollee, as well as a day and time for screening. You and your child must report to the school where you registered at the designated time so that he/she may be screened in August. Proof of income for all working adults living in the home is required - no exceptions.
There will be only twenty placements at each. Students will be selected for the program using state-approved criteria; therefore, we may not be able to serve all students who apply. Parents/guardians of students who meet the criteria will be called to confirm placement. Be sure all phone numbers are correct at registration so that we may contact you.
Once assigned a screening date and time, parents/guardians must follow the guidelines listed below:
- A maximum of two (2) parents/guardians may accompany the Pre-K student into the building for screening.
- Upon arrival, please park near the main entrance of the school and wait in your vehicle until called to enter the building. If you cannot be reached, we will move on to the next registrant. Be sure to provide a current cell phone number on your application so that communication may occur.
- All forms MUST be completed and submitted to the screening staff for review.
