ACADEMIC AND SERVICE CLUBS
ART CLUB- The Sevier County High School Art Club is designed to help decorate the school. The club will meet on regular club days during school to discuss upcoming projects. All projects will be completed during after-school meetings. The club is open to all upper-level art students (Art II, III, IV, and V). Interested students will be required to meet after-school two times per six weeks grading period for a total of 12 meetings per school year. Club fee. Sponsored by Cyndie Sellars.
BETA CLUB- Mission Statement: the National Beta Club in an organization whose purpose are to stimulate effort, reward achievement, and encourage members to continue their education after high school. Achievement, character, and leadership are the words on our national emblem. Club dues. In order to activate membership each SCHS Beta Club member, as part of the service requirement each year, must donate $10 along with the dues. COMIC BOOK AND ANIME CLUB- Mission Statement: The Comic Book / Anime Club is a fun and educational club committed to enriching young minds in a creative and imaginative way. As America’s future artists, writers, computer graphic experts and entertainment creators, the club strives to provide an environment where members can grow and flourish as both creative individuals, as well as part of a collaborative, creative team. No dues. Sponsored by Gina Davis, Madelyn Kidwell, and Jon Pemberton.
CULINARY CLUB- Mission Statement: Culinary Club will help its students to become more responsible, self motivated, and self directed students. The goal is to motivate students to become more active in charitable works and community projects. Club dues. Sponsored by Sissy Ivy.
DECA- Mission Statement: DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high school and colleges around the globe. Club dues. Sponsored by Martha Barnett, Tina Carmichael, and Valerie Deckard.
DRAMA CLUB- Mission Statement: It is the mission of the Drama Club to create a supportive environment for the high school theatre community. This theatre community will strive to use theatre performance as a community of service to both the high school population and to our county in general. Club dues. Sponsored by Madeline Franklin-Dean.
FFA- Mission Statement: The National FFA Organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing the premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Club dues. Sponsored by Daren Helton and Wayne Loveday.
FISHING CLUB- Students who enjoy the sport of fishing come together each week to explore the science behind the sport as well as the opportunities offered in the community. Sponsored by Dustin McGill.
4-H- Mission Statement: 4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caring adults. 4-H’ers engage in hands on learning activities in the areas of science, citizenship and healthy living. No dues. Sponsored by Tina Carmichael.
INTERACT CLUB- The SCHS Interact Club brings together young people to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self in conjunction with our local Rotary Clubs. Sponsored by Cynthia Cash and Amy Daniels.
JUNIOR CLASSICAL LEAGUE- Mission Statement: To gain an active appreciation and understanding of the civilizations of ancient Greece and Rome, to provide a sound basis for the expansion of members horizons and perspective, to effectively create in others a sense of awareness, interest, and appreciation of the Classics. Club dues. Sponsored by Lauren McCarty.
MATH CLUB MU ALPHA THETA- Mission Statement: To promote the scholarship in, and enjoyment and understanding of, mathematics. It is restricted to students who have completed and made as least a B in both Algebra I and Geometry. We provide opportunities for students to participate in competitions and to provide tutoring to their fellow students. Club dues. Sponsored By Ben Brabson and Hugette Williams.
MODEL UNITED NATIONS- Mission Statement: Tennessee high school students learn about the real world operation of the United Nations by participating in a reenactment of the organization's activities. Most students form delegations and represent member countries' interests in the General Assembly by drafting and debating resolutions. These resolutions cover a wide variety of topics of international concern. Other students have the opportunity to represent their countries on the Security Council and Secretariat, to participate in a model International Court of Justice, to serve in the Department of Public Information. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY- Mission Statement: The objective of the NHS Blanche McCall Chapter shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage character development in pupils of SCHS. This club is selected by a panel of teachers who review student applications. No dues. Sponsored by Kristi Atchley and Nathan Rhea.
NATIONAL MUSIC HONOR SOCIETY- The purpose of the National Music Honor Society is to promote academic achievement, scholarship, service to the community and to promote music in our school and surrounding community. In order to be eligible students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.2, have participated in community service opportunities, and be enrolled in a music course at SCHS. Sponsored by Nathan Rhea.
RELAY FOR LIFE- Relay For Life events comprise the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Each Relay For Life event is special to its community, but the movement's true power lies in the combined commitment of SCHS students to help the American Cancer Society save lives from cancer. Sponsored by Ben Brabson and Leslie Mattern.
SCIENCE CLUBS- Mission Statement: The Science Club is dedicated to promoting science education and activities at SCHS. Club dues. Sponsored by Elizabeth Bernardi, Micah Neun and Brittany Ramsey.
SCIENCE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY- SNHS is a prominent scientific organization that will engender a new group of young thinkers who will be the future of industry, research, and scientific exploration for America. Sponsored by Elizabeth Bernardi and Brittany Ramsey.
SKI & SNOWBOARD CLUB- Mission Statement: The mission of the SCHS Ski/Snowboard Club is to provide an opportunity for students to meet others who share a common interest in skiing and or snowboarding. Club dues. Sponsored by Frank Hernandez.
SKILLS USA- Mission Statement: SCHS Skills USA, in partnership with business, industry and community, provides opportunities for members to develop individually and improve teamwork, leadership and professional skills through education, training, and service. Club dues. Sponsored by Mack Caylor, Brandon Johnson, Leslie Justus, Audrey Kochert, Samantha Satterfield, and Charlotte Tatum.
SPANISH CLUB- It is the vision and mission of Spanish Club to be an organization that offers opportunities for students to practice their Spanish language skills, participate in cultural activities, and to provide community service for the Hispanic people in Sevier County Club. Club dues. Sponsored by Lisa Stone.
STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION- Elected members of the Student Government Association do more than just represent the student body to faculty and administration. SGA is responsible for shaping much of the student experience at SCHS. Sponsored by Kayla Pearson and Nathan Rhea.
TECHNOLOGY STUDENT ASSOCIATION- The Technology Student Association (TSA) is the only student organization devoted exclusively to the needs of students interested in areas related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Sponsored by Stephani Clabo.
ULTIMATE FRISBEE CLUB- Combining the non-stop movement and athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing skills of football, a game of ultimate is played by two teams with a flying disc on a field with end zones, similar to football. Sponsored by Zachary Weaver.
WALKING CLUB- Mission Statement: The goal is to provide a supervised alternative to the requirement for a second semester in health and wellness for our students. No dues. Sponsored by Jama Franklin.
