Request for Proposal: Pittman Center Elementary School Classrooms and Restrooms Addition
The Sevier County Board of Education will receive sealed bids for each Bid Package listed for the Pittman Center Elementary School, Classrooms, and Restrooms Addition. Bids will be received at the Sevier County Board of Education, 226 Cedar Street, Sevierville, Tennessee, where bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. All blds must be received on or before 1:00 pm. (local time), February 10, 2023.
During the bid opening process itself, Sevier County Schools employees will open each bid packet and then read aloud each bidder's name as well as any financial submissions. Sevier County Schools employees will not read the entirety of each bid packet aloud at the bld opening. However, if a bidder or another interested party would like to review any of the bid packets submitted, that bidder/party need only send an open records request for the same by contacting the Sevier County Board of Education.
The proposal must be submitted in a sealed envelope, with the specified "Proposal Form" included in the documents. In addition, each proposal envelope must have the "bid envelope form" and the respective bid package number attached to the envelope.

C. Laney and Sons Construction, Inc. is the Construction Manager for this project, acting on the owner's behalf in soliciting proposals. Each successful bidder shall execute a contract directly with the owner and not with the Construction Manager.
Each Proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check, cash or bidders' bond, executed by the Bidder and Surety Company, IN THE SUM OF NOT LESS THAN FIVE PERCENT (5%) OF THE AMOUNT OF THE BASE PROPOSAL. The bid security is required as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted, the contract will be immediately entered into and the performance of its property secured. No bidder may withdraw a bid submitted for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids. In the event the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fails to execute a satisfactory contract and bond, he shall be eliminated and shall forfeit his certified check, cash or his bid bond and shall be liable for the loss occasioned by the owner by such failure.
Any bid which is not received on time or in the proper form shall be unopened and returned.

Alternate 1 Bid - Shingle Replacement/Repair of Existing Buildings: An alternate bid for replacement/repair of all damaged and/or missing shingles, sheathing, flashing and roof venting on existing buildings is requested by the owner. The alternate bid shall be a labor cost only and as follows:

NOTES:

- All blds with a value of $100,000.00 (one hundred thousand dollars) and above are required to provide a performance and payment bond. Please include the cost in this proposal.
- The removal of all spoils is the responsibility of the bidder. Including footing excavation, underground piping excavation and any and all items that may produce excess spoil materials.
