Certified Teacher Employment Fair Canceled Due to COVID-19 Extended School Closure
Following guidance set forth by local, state, and federal governments, the Sevier County School System's Certified Teacher Employment Fair originally scheduled for April 3, 2020, has been canceled. At this time, an alternate date has not been set. We will continue to monitor guidelines and any updates regarding the employment fair will be posted on our website. Prior to applying, teacher candidates who do not already have a valid certificate should review the requirements needed to obtain a Tennessee Teachers License.
Under Tennessee law, any person seeking employment with Sevier County Schools will be subject a background check through the Tennessee Applicant Processing Services Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Additionally, any applicant will have his/her name submitted to the Department of Children's Services, Department of Human Services, and the sex offender registry to determine if the applicant is eligible for hire.
