Scholarship Deadlines by Month
New: Seniors, the Kodak Masonic Lodge is offering a $500 scholarship for a senior from the Kodak area. The application is attached and the deadline to apply is May 7th.
New: Walters State Access and Diversity Grant applications for the 2021-2022 school-year are available. The deadline for the grant application is June 18,2021. *Just because you qualify does not mean you will automatically receive the grant. It is also important to note that students receiving TN Promise money are still eligible to receive this grant. TN Promise does not cover books and fees, so those students with financial hardships may greatly benefit from this grant.
Information about the Grant:
Students must meet all of the following criteria:
-Be a Tennessee resident; U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Be admitted to Walter State Community College
-Have completed and submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Meet with Coordinator of Multicultural Engagement or Assistant to the President for Diversity
Submission deadline of application for Fall 2021 is June 18, 2021.
Students must meet one of the following qualifications:
(preference given to students who meet more than one)
-First generation college student (your parents have no education beyond high school)
-Member of an underrepresented population: African American, Native American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native Alaskan, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander
-Non-traditional student (age 25 or older)
-Documented disability (must be registered with the office of Disability Services)
-Geographically disadvantaged (living is Hawkins, Claiborne, or Union Counties)
-Veteran (must be registered with the office of Veteran Services)
-Along with at least one of the above, documented financial need
New: The Kids’ Chance of Tennessee Scholarship Program awards scholarships to dependent children of a parent or guardian who has been seriously, catastrophically or fatally injured as a result of a work-related accident that meets the criteria of the Tennessee Workers’ Compensation Act and that has resulted in a substantial financial need.
Scholarship recipients must also meet the following requirements:
-Must be a legal resident of the State of Tennessee
-A dependent of a parent or guardian who has suffered a serious or catastrophic injury and/or permanent disability, or was fatally injured as a result of a work-related accident]
-Must be able to demonstrate substantial financial need
-Must be enrolled as a full-time student at a post-secondary school (university, technical college, etc.)
-Must demonstrate superior academic achievement and aptitude

Aging impacts everyone and as the aging population explodes over the next 30 years, SeniorCare.com wants to bring more awareness to the key issues we face. We will be awarding an annual college scholarship to an individual that best demonstrates to us why "Aging Matters" to them. We are excited to announce the SeniorCare.com Aging Matters Scholarship. A $1500 scholarship will be given annually to a selected college student that currently cares for an aging loved one, works within the senior community, or intends to pursue a career that will have an impact on the elder population. Any existing student (or incoming freshman), in good academic standing, at a 2 or 4 year accredited college can apply for this scholarship. And the recipient will demonstrate a unique and admirable understanding and desire to show us that "Aging Matters" to them. The SeniorCare.com Aging Matters Scholarship awards $1500 to be applied towards tuition, books, board and other expenses. Deadline is May 15th. The link to the application is listed below:
