  • Seniors, A message from Walters State (for students planning on attending Walters State in the fall): Due to social distancing guidelines related to Covid 19, Walters State has cancelled all remaining on-campus Student Orientations for the summer. Current high school seniors who are admitted to Walters State for summer/fall 2020 as incoming freshmen should complete Online Orientation. Upon completion of online orientation, students will be personally contacted by an academic advisor who will assist with class selection and registration. The WS Admissions team is currently calling all students who were signed up for an on-campus Orientation to provide instructions about online orientation. Walters State Virtual Meeting

  • Walters State Wednesday on Wednesday, May 20th via Zoom (2:00 pm). Sevier county seniors who are admitted to Walters State for summer/fall 2020 will be invited to participate (invitations will be sent via text with Zoom link/will be promoted on WS Admissions social media). Admissions and Financial Aid Representatives will present during the event and will be available for individual and/or group questions.

TN Promise Updates

  • TN Promise Community Service Hours:   Earn community service hours by participating in virtual community service opportunities! See below for details.  Are you looking for a way to earn community service hours? If so, check out the virtual community service opportunities offered by tnAchieves!  In light of the increasing challenge of finding community service opportunities at this time, tnAchieves has partnered with stakeholders across the state to provide one-hour service webinars to allow students to earn TN Promise community service hours virtually for the upcoming July 1 deadline. The webinars focus on subjects relating to careers, professional development and college success. Kuder Career Assessment

  • Sophomores, if you have not completed the Kuder Career Assessment through your U.S. Government class you can complete it online at https://navigatorathome.kuder.com/account/login-register. You do not need an activation code, you just create an account. You can use this website to create a resume.

Lunch and Learn Webinars

  • New: The THEC/TSAC Outreach Team is excited to offer new Lunch-and-Learn webinars for the month of May. We’ll be launching our 8-for-8 series available to students and parents beginning Monday, May 11. The topics below will be relevant to students in early high school grades through graduating seniors. Each topic will be covered 4 times over the 2-week period and are scheduled so a family may attend all 8, if desired. The webinars will be offered Monday-Thursday at 11:30(central)/12:30(eastern) and will typically last around 30 minutes. Sevier County Farm Bureau Scholarship

  • The Sevier County Farm Bureau Board of Directors is offering a $5000 scholarship to one graduating senior in Sevier County who is pursuing a degree in agriculture. Application available on Google Classroom. Deadline to apply is June 1st.
