Updated Kindergarten Registration and Screening Information for 2020-2021
If you were unable to participate in the kindergarten registration scheduled on March 5, 2020, and have a child who will be five (5) years of age on or before August 15, 2020, an additional registration date has been scheduled. As part of the Education Improvement Act of 1992, a kindergarten experience is mandatory in the State of Tennessee.
On July 15 & 16, 2020, during new student registration, parents should pick up a registration packet at the school site your child will be attending. This packet contains all the information and directions you will need to complete registration for your child. Completed registration packets for all incoming kindergarten students should be returned during the weeks of July 27-30, 2020, from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. or August 3-6, 2020, between 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at the school in which your child will be enrolled.
Once completed packets are returned to the school your child will be attending, your child’s school will communicate with you regarding your child’s assigned date for screening. Screening dates for the 2020-2021 school year will take place during the traditional staggered days for kindergarten during the first days of the 2020-2021 school year. The screening window will occur August 13-19, 2020, at your child’s school.
