School Lunch Program
In response to waivers from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), on Thursday, September 3, 2020, Sevier County School System began providing both breakfast and lunch meals at no cost to all enrolled students (on-site and virtual). These waivers will allow meals to be served free of charge until December 31, 2020, or until funding runs out. All students attending on-site classes are now eligible for both breakfast and lunch meals at no charge. Parents of students enrolled in on-line classes may contact the school their child attends and request meals. Cafeteria staff will pack one week of meals (5 breakfast meals and 5 lunch meals) for parent pick-up. These meals will contain prepackaged cereals, breakfast pastries, fruit, juice, milk, fresh veggies, and fully-cooked, frozen entrees (chicken tenders, corn dog nuggets, pizza slices, etc.) that may easily be heated at home. Safe handling and preparation instructions will be included. Contact the cafeteria manager at your child’s school for more information.
