NAEP Assessment

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) is the national assessment of what America's students know and can do in various subject areas including mathematics, reading, and science.

Since the same tests are used across the nation, NAEP results serve as a common metric for all states and selected urban districts. The assessment stays essentially the same from year to year, providing a clear picture of student academic progress over time. Learn more about the NAEP from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES)

Who will take the NAEP assessment?

Only a small number of students from Sevier County will take the NAEP assessment. The National Center for Education Statistics selects a representative set of students that reflect the varying demographics of each state. All students selected are chosen at random.
