Support Staff

Support staff positions with the Sevier County School System include: school secretary, custodians, food service, maintenance, business office personnel, and all teacher assistants.

Individuals interested in applying for a support staff position with the Sevier County School System need to complete the following application process.

  • Step 1:  Support Staff Application Packet
    Individuals interested in applying for a support staff position with the Sevier County School System should submit a completed application packet that includes the following documentation:

    • Support Staff Application:  Applicants should fill out ALL information requested on the document, and make sure to sign and date the application prior to submitting it to the Sevier County Schoool System.
    • Resume: Applicants should include a current resume prior to submitting the application packet.
    • Copy of Transcripts or ParaPro Exam Results:  These do not have to be official copies; only required for education assistant positions
  • Mail or Deliver the Application to:

    Sevier County Board of Education 
    Attn: Human Resources

  • Once employment has been offered, accepted, and all required paperwork has been submitted, a representative from the Human Resources Department will contact the new employee to schedule the payroll and benefits orientation.

    New employees will receive an email with a welcome note and a confirmation of your scheduled appointment time to attend the new hire orientation. A minimum of 2 hours will be necessary to complete the orientation. This email will include the following:

    • Instructions on completing your pre-employment physical
    • Instructions for completing your federal background check
    • List of items to bring with you to your orientation
    • Summary of benefits that will be offered

    Individuals who are hired as full-time support staff will be discussing the following at the orientation:

    • Health insurance options
    • Selecting a dental and vision plan, and
    • Offered supplemental life insurance options

    Please review the benefits information prior to your scheduled orientation.

  • The following items are required at the time of orientation:
     

    • Drivers License
    • Social Security Card
    • Voided Check for Direct Deposit or a letter on bank letterhead stating routing and account number
    • Social Security Numbers, Date of Birth for Dependent and Beneficiaries
    • If seeking family insurance coverage, please bring birth certificates for children, marriage certificate and the most recent tax returns as proof of marriage
    • Teacher assistants should also bring educational diplomas and college transcripts (if applicable) and/or Paraprofessional test scores.Information concerning the ParaPro Exam can be found on the ETS website.
    • If an employee wishes to have experience considered for pay purposes, with a maximum of 5 years for in-kind work, documentation on letterhead from prior employers signed with contact phone numbers must be supplied. No exceptions. The letter needs to include dates of employment, state status as full time or part time, and list job duties.
